Frequently Asked Questions

Is my property a DRI?

For now, contact the DRI Coordinator at 508-693-3453 x 118 or [email protected]. Check back here in the next few months, when we'll have have uploaded a DRI map of existing DRIs for each town.

Who should I talk to about a concern? What do staff members do?

Here is the list of staff members and the issues they are responsible for.

When is the next Commission/committee meeting and what is on the agenda?

All meetings and agendas are posted on the Calendar

Do I need MVC approval for my project because it is in a District of Critical Planning Concern?

No, once a town has adopted and the MVC has approved the town’s DCPC regulations, it is the town that reviews permit applications and approves or denies them. If the DCPC designation is underway or the town’s regulations have not been approved yet, your application may be subject to a moratorium. Check with your town’s building official.

How can I find a study, report, or document prepared by the Commission?

Try using the search box (on each page) or the advanced Document Search in the Resource Center. Various website pages dealing with planning, DRIs, or DCPCs, list documents relevent to those topics. Also in the Resource Center is a list of studies and reports prepared by the MVC. If you need help, please give us a call at 508-693-3453.
